A gentle start, together
Baby Moon is relationship-focused. It is not about entertaining babies or providing constant stimulation. I create calm, practical opportunities for parents, carers and babies to connect through gentle sound, movement, voice, visual materials and moments of stillness.

A family-facing programme that can complement early-years, Start for Life and family-support provision through gentle engagement and practical connection activities.
The Baby Moon approach
I use sound and sensory experiences as a vehicle for relationship-building, not as a replacement for health or therapeutic services. There is no one-size-fits-all Baby Moon experience: each baby’s preferences, cues and family circumstances are respected.
The four-week journey
Each weekly session combines a short, accessible introduction with practical parent–baby connection activities and a gentle sensory sound journey. Ideas are designed to be adaptable and easy to carry into everyday routines.
WEEK 01
Understanding cues and building connection
I introduce Baby Moon’s connection-led approach, making room to notice your baby’s facial expressions, movement, behaviour and vocalisation. We explore gentle voice, eye contact, touch and movement at a pace that feels right for you both.
Take-home thought
Your baby is communicating all the time; connection begins with noticing and responding.
WEEK 02
Sensory moments without overstimulation
I offer simple, developmentally appropriate sensory experiences using sound, movement, visual materials and gentle instruments. There is no expectation for a baby to perform or participate; parents and carers are encouraged to observe each individual response.
Take-home thought
Follow your baby’s response and adapt the experience to the baby in front of you.
WEEK 03
Co-regulation, calm and predictable connection
I share accessible ideas around pauses, predictable routines, voice, rhythm and touch. We consider when to reduce or stop sensory input and how small, repeated everyday interactions can support a settled, connected moment.
Take-home thought
Connection and calm can be built through small, repeated everyday interactions.
WEEK 04
Taking Baby Moon beyond the class
The final session creates space to reflect on what you have noticed and take ideas into routines at home. We look at books, songs, outdoor experiences, voice, rhythm and gentle sensory play, with relevant local signposting where appropriate.
Take-home thought
Baby Moon is a way of thinking about connection that can continue long after four weeks.
For professionals & partners
Baby Moon can provide a welcoming, low-pressure opportunity for parents and carers to engage with provision. The programme supports relationship-building, parental confidence and awareness of wider support, while remaining within clear professional boundaries.
Discuss delivery in your settingStaff orientation
Before delivery, I can introduce the programme’s purpose, boundaries, practical referral pathway, safeguarding responsibilities and appropriate signposting.
What can be evaluated
Programme feedback can focus on parent confidence, responsive interaction, connection activities at home, awareness of support, attendance and qualitative experience—without making medical or therapeutic claims.
Baby Moon can be adapted around individual preferences, different communication styles, sensory differences, developmental needs and family circumstances. The guiding principle is always to follow the baby and avoid forcing participation.
I use age-appropriate, well-maintained equipment and gentle sound levels. Parents and carers supervise their own babies throughout, and host organisation safeguarding, venue, emergency and incident procedures remain in place.
Clear boundary: Baby Moon does not assess, diagnose or replace statutory, health, social care or therapeutic services. Any emerging concern is managed through the relevant local organisational procedures.
